Since the beginning of my studies I have always focused my education and career on an international and innovative environment. I graduated in Biomedicine at Federal University of Paraná (Brazil) after an exchange period in The Netherlands (Radboud University Nijmegen). I strengthened my field of interest, cardiovascular research, during my Master’s program in Bioscience and Biotechnology at Carlos Chagas Institute, the research institute from the Brazilian Ministry of Health. My Master’s thesis involved the development of a bioprosthetic heart valve bioengineered with stem cells. Now, as an Early Stage Researcher in the INTRICARE program at Uniklinik RWTH Aachen, I am looking forward to apply my knowledge into underlying the missing link between diabetes type 2 mellitus and vascular calcification with a metabolomic approach.
