Mueez Aizaz

I was born in Pakistan which is also where I completed my Bachelors in Computer Systems Engineering. In pursuit of higher education, I moved to Aachen, Germany and completed my Masters in Biomedical Engineering from RWTH Aachen.

For my master thesis, I worked at Varian Medical Systems in Baden, Switzerland. There I developed a tool that could be used to assess the image quality of CT scans. The tool allowed the flexibility to assess different image quality metrics from different areas of a scan in a single reconstruction.

To further develop myself in medical imaging, I applied for a PhD position at CARIM (Department of Radiology), University of Maastricht. My research here is focused on the assessment of developing and under treatment vulnerable plaque in carotid and coronary arteries using state of the art noninvasive imaging (PET/MRI).
