Sébastien Foulquier (18.07.84, France), Pharm.D., Ph.D., is a senior post-doctoral researcher at Maastricht University within the Cardiovascular Research Institute Maastricht (CARIM, Pharmacology-Toxicology Department).
Dr S. Foulquier studied pharmaceutical sciences at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Nancy with a specialization in R&D. In 2008, he graduated with a Master degree in Cardiovascular Physiology and Pathophysiology from the University of Lyon and with a pharmaceutical doctorate from the University of Nancy. Thereafter he joined the cardiovascular research group of the EA3452 unit to start his doctoral studies where he developed his expertise on hypertension, cerebral circulation and the renin angiotensin system (RAS). His doctoral work focused especially on the role of the RAS on the cerebral microcirculation, with a particular emphasis on the AT1 and AT2 receptors equilibrium. He obtained his Ph.D degree after 3 years in 2012 and was awarded with the “Best thesis” prize from the Faculty of Pharmacy.
Dr S. Foulquier joined CARIM in July 2012 where he continues to develop his expertise on hypertension, cerebrovascular dysfunction and angiotensin receptors through different inter-disciplinary research projects.
